Link Building the Easy Way

Posted by Sakoo as Uncategorized

Link building doesn’t have to be difficult. If you are lazy, like me, then the thought of trawling the internet day in and day out looking for places to drop your links probably doesn’t sound too appealing. The problem is that effective link building is still the best way to get those high ranking spots in the search engine listings that we all dream about.

No one really knows how the search engine algorithms work but there is a lot of evidence that the main factors in getting a good ranking are relevant back links to your site, quality content and constantly updating your site. Equally, there are tactics that people use to try and fool the search engines that usually end up in disaster. My aim in this article is to point you in the right direction so that your link building efforts are not in vain and you don’t end up wasting days or even months doing things that will ultimately hurt your websites rankings.

So, what are my easy link building tips then?

  1. Article Marketing. This method of building links is not for the faint hearted but it is still one of the most effective methods of getting high search engine rankings that I know of. Basically, just write some short, keyword focused articles and then distribute them to the many free article directories that are on the internet. This has 2 advantages. First of all, these directories often have a high page rank themselves and you can find your article appearing on the front page of the search engine listings within a few hours in some cases. This brings instant traffic to your article which then links through to your web site. The second effect is that Google rewards the content highly and scores the back links to your site from the article very well. So you gain in the short term and the long term. Article marketing is also very simple to outsource if you don’t like writing the articles yourself.
  2. Directory Listings. The internet is full of website directories. Some are paid services but many are free. The larger ones such as DMOZ have a very high page rank ad are free but can take months to list your site, but there are many others which are smaller but index you almost immediately. Paid services can offer very powerful back links but some, such as Yahoos business directory can cost you hundr4eds of dollars a year so you should choose sparingly.
  3. Web 2.0 Properties. These are the hot property in link building just now. Web 2.0 properties are essentially mini webs sites or blog services such as Weebly or Blogspot who allow you to design your own pages along with pictures, videos, advertisements and even RSS feeds. These services are all free and Google just loves them. Use them often and don’t be afraid to interlink them for extra link power.

So, there you are some easy link building techniques for lazy people like me. Remember, link building is a long term process but essentially it’s fairly boring and time consuming. However, if you want to guarantee success on the internet today it something that you just can’t avoid.
